Love from Pure Heart
Love is able to see the wrong and still
find the good. Love is able to see the weakness and point
out the strength. Love is able to be offended by the sin and
yet tenderly love the sinner. Love is able to listen
patiently and preserve self worth. Love qualifies you to
remove the splinter when the person is ready. And love says
the greatest thing that you can do for your neighbor is to
pull the log out of your own eye.
We are not following God nor are we
committed to him if we are not committed to walking in
love.
Everything Jesus did and modeled and
demonstrated love. Love was the motivating factor behind all
that he did and said,
Paul said the purpose of my instruction
is that all the Christians there would be filled with love
that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience and sincere
faith. Love is the ultimate proof of really knowing God.
"For whom he did foreknow, He did also predestined to be
conformed to the image of His son." (Romans 8:29)
As a ministry, our desire is to be conformed to His image and to
walk in His steps. Glorifying God simply means reflecting
His likeness in all we do.
It means unlearning all of our old ways of thinking and doing
and allowing Him to show forth, so that He can manifest and
express His characteristics through us. It means removing
every hindrance, every blockage in our life that quenches His
Spirit, so that He may be clearly seen through us, just as the
Father was perfectly seen through Jesus. Hebrews 1:3
"The Son perfectly mirrors God and is stamped with God's
nature." When people look at us, do they see the
characteristics of Christ.
This is the purpose of our existence as Christians. We are
to be changed from the "inside, out" and begin to reflect His
likeness and image. Jesus even goes further to say in John
5:31, "If I bear witness of Myself, my witness is not true."
Wow! If Jesus says this of Himself, how much more it must
be true for all of us! We are to bear witness of God's
image, not our own.
When God asks us to love Him with all our heart, mind and soul,
what He is really asking is that we exchange our own image, all
of our thoughts - emotions - and desires that are contrary to
His will - for the Image that we were originally created to
bear. A portrait of His supernatural love, thoughts and
power.
As a ministry we are seeing our staff, students, orphans, widows
and friends being changed daily form the inside - out!
